Overview

The Associate Maintenance Technician is an Entry-Level position that must develop skills in equipment and facilities maintenance. Position is responsible for supporting Technicians and Sr Technician in performing routine and emergency repairs on building, equipment and machinery such as HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems and routine maintenance tasks.  In addition, this may include monitoring equipment and making adjustments/performing minor maintenance on machinery. Position will be supporting scheduled Preventive maintenance tasks such as inspections, cleaning equipment and basic GMP tasks.  This role offers valuable hands-on experience and a path for career growth within our company it will also ensure successful operation of sophisticated manufacturing machinery.  This position is located at a manufacturing facility in Valencia, California. 

The position requires to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate production; occasionally work extended hours on weekends and holidays as needed.

 

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $28.85-$33.65 per hour. This pay scale takes into account a wide range of business factors and may change over time.

Bay Center will play an important role in Chick-fil-A's growth enabling innovation to improve team member, and ultimately the customer experience. The new subsidiary is in the early stages of development and will be a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.   

Responsibilities

  • Follow All Safety Procedures, Including Lockout/Tagout procedures, and help ensure the work environment is safe and compliant with Health and Safety Standards
  • Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot minor issues with equipment and systems and report any issues to Team Leader
  • Perform general upkeep to maintenance shop by maintaining and organizing workshop such as tools and supplies
  • Acts with urgency and can effectively prioritize many requests from several stakeholders
  • Organized and committed to maintaining a clean environment (5S principles)
  • Ability to learn machine operation and understand purpose of components through on the job training
  • Perform initial cleaning and inspection to maintain machine in good working condition
  • Develop problem solving skills by detecting and correcting abnormality through continuous improvement methodology or equivalent
  • Conduct basic maintenance task such as inspection or lubrication levels, locating leaks, tightening bolts, search for impending mechanical issues (cracks, wear, noises)
  • Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures
  • Maintain food and environmental health safety standards throughout the facility (GMP Compliance)
  • Safely and properly operate sophisticated equipment, such as HPP machinery, Baggers, Case Erectors, etc
  • Supports execution of preventative maintenance activities and scheduled tasks
  • Proactively engages with the production team to monitor and maintain equipment

Business Requirements

  • Complete physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds

  • Work with and handle cleaning chemicals as needed
  • Work while standing for several hours at a time
  • Prepare for a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and rotating shifts

  • Computer skills such as basic excel skills & ability to gain proficiency in CMMS (Oracle)
  • Ability to comprehend and follow documentation and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Experience in a manufacturing facility
