Overview

The Team Leader Maintenance will have broad and deep domain expertise in industrial maintenance and trades, strong communication and relationship skills, a commitment to transparency and service, and the vision and leadership capacity to enable the facilities to meet the broad and evolving range of responsibilities and expectations established for it. The position requires the flexibility to work some Saturdays on a rotating basis.

Bay Center is establishing a state-of-the-art food processing production facility to create critical product components for an existing business, while also creating new B2B revenue streams. The Maintenance Technician will report to the Senior Team Leader, Maintenance. This position is based in Valencia, CA.   

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $110,000.00 to $120,000.00 This pay scale takes into account a wide range of business factors and may change over time. 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure staff is supported by a leadership team who provide vision, direction, and motivation.
  • Champion organizational efforts to promote and sustain a safe workplace.
  • Be responsible for department’s KPIs
  • Assist daily technical requirements to ensure the facility is operational and all repairs are proactively addressed
  • Oversee maintenance activities during production and tooling changeovers
  • Help plan, schedule, coordinate plant maintenance and outage activities
  • Oversee preventative maintenance activities and scheduled items in a timely manner
  • Guide and mentor the technicians in the troubleshooting and resolution on any issue that may arise on all site equipment, including Robots
  • Ensure RCFA’s are completed after any mayor downtime
  • Runs and analyzes manufacturing execution systems (MES) reports
  • Opens and closes job orders and work paths
  • Monitors key parts inventory to ensure parts and tools are readily available
  • Responds to reactive maintenance and equipment issues in a timely manner
  • Engage the team and take a leadership role in the implementation of Lean tools (5S, TPM, Problem Solving, OEE, RCFA, etc.)
  • Monitor and ensure a safe work environment
  • Ensure and mentor in the compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF)
  • Supports meeting or exceeding standard production efficiencies on all production lines
  • Perform supporting activities for engineering and manufacturing including 5S and Lean manufacturing activities, and safety procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years in maintenance of a food manufacturing facility
  • Minimum: Mechanical Trade School or Mechanical Engineer
  • Understands, mentors and practices Servant Leadership
  • Ability to prioritize work for self and others
  • Proficient in skilled repair by having knowledge in mechanics, pneumatics, electric, electronics, PLC, Robotics, hydraulics, refrigeration, steam systems and chemistry
  • Exceptional time management and prioritization skills
  • A passion for leading positive change throughout organizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Self-starter with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Proficiency in mechanical design and assembly
  • Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills; a team player, yet able to work independently when necessary
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Able to anticipate needs and manage shifting priorities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
